Default How to move My Document to Dpartition

I would like to move My Documents folder from C partition to D partition
in my laptop. C is my system partition and D is the data partition. The
reason I am doing this is to keep all my data in D partition. I do
appreciate any help.
Thank you in advance.

First of all, there is no real "My Documents" directory in Vista. All
the "My" directories you see are virtual directories, junctions there
for backwards compatibility with older programs that expect to find "My
Documents". The actual location of your stuff is
C:\Users\your-user-account\[Documents] [Downloads] etc. (This assumes a
system drive of C:\ of course.)

Now, to answer your question. You should not attempt to move the entire
user directory but you can relocate Documents, Downloads, Music, etc.

From the expert "brink":

To move the Documents folder to another location (like another partition
or hard drive), right-click on the Documents folder and click
Properties, then you'll find a tab called Location. Use the Move-button
to move the folder to another location.

Hi Malke
Thank you for your quick response and the suggestion, I am not going to
mess with moving my Folders or Files but I have used the Partition Tool
within the system and deleted the D(data) partition and extended the
C(system) partition to make a single partition and I am quite happy with
this set up. I have only one OS and my requirements do not need two
partitions. You guys are doing a fantastic service to the community and
I do really appreciate it.

Hi, Mikey.

Why are you stalking Malke?

I'm sure that all the people that she has helped over the years regard her
posts much more highly than yours.

Please cease and desist!
