Default dl-ing mail when WM not open

Not downloading messages unless I have WM open. Has this been reported and
is it a bug or just something they're not going to in WM?

A program doesn't work unless its started. So WinMail can't do anything
until you start it. And when you close it, it stops working. That's how
programs work.

then why does my AV & spyware work when it's not open and why did outlook
express download mail when it wasn't open? Same with MS outlook, it works
without having it open. All mail client will download messages without
having the client open. It's a built in feature to have the option of having
it in the tray. WM doesn't have athat option.

It's a faux paux with WM!

Those programs are open and are running in the background.

WinMail doesn't have that option.
