Default Account / User id in news group postings

Checkout the two postings in this group from Al and Al Christoph. One is
"Shot myself ..."; the other is "A Note ..."

I thought I had sent them both from Windows Mail, yet I'm guessing that I
sent one from the Managed Newsgroup web site.

Sooooo ... the question is how can I set up newsgroups in Windows Mail to
use the Managed Newsgroup user id? Is that possible?

Regards,
Al

As the headers of your posts indicate, "Al's" messages come from
Windows Mail while "Al Christoph" uses the MS webinterface.

To my knowledge there is no such thing as a "managed newsgroup user ID".
Simply go to the account properties and change your user name as you
would like it.

Or am I maybe missing something here on the plain NNTP side of things?
If it is about the recognition system, you would also have to go to the
news account details and change the Windows Live/Passport account given
there.

Thanks for the response to this and my other post.

Managed newsgroups are a feature for MSDN subscribers. Supposedly I get a
response within 24 hours. Yeah Right!

I usually get at them via a web site. I use passport to log on. I'll have to
experiment and see what happens.

I'll report back.

Al

I'm not sure those have an NNTP interface.

A lot of them had NNTP access a few years ago. I don't know about now. MS
people didn't seem to appreciate a lowly MVP answering posts there.

This dude who has been helping others for 40 years because others helped
when I needed it does appreciate lowly MVP's.

Thanks for your support.

And I apologize for my delay in getting back to you.

Watch for an announcement of the software I've been developing. I'll send
you a fully licensed copy if you are getting pix via Windows Mail.

Al
