Windows Easy Transfer (WET) supposed to do the job.
It did not. I have Vista RC1. What steps should I take to import my email account settings, all messages and selected newsgroups? Jack |

Right now going from RC1 to RC2 and up is not going to work very well. The
database design has changed between the two. You can recover the messages by searching for *.eml and dragging them into another Windows Mail or OE version folder. The account settings are stored in the individual .oeaccount files. see http://windowssdk.msdn.microsoft.com...37(VS.80).aspx The newsgroups themselves will not import. You'll have to set them up again. Other information is stored under these registry keys: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IAM HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail but these are still also in transition, so don't expect them to be the same between RC1 and RC2. steve "Jack" replyto@newsgroup wrote in message ...
