When I try to import mail folders created in WM into OE there is selection
for WM. WM allowed OE to be imported into WM. Is there a way to do the import? Thoughts |

Opps!!!
That should read: When I try to import mail folders created in WM into OE there is NO selection for WM. "Rennie" wrote: When I try to import mail folders created in WM into OE there is selection for WM. WM allowed OE to be imported into WM. Is there a way to do the import? Thoughts |

That is corrrect. OE doesn't know anything about Windows Mail. However,
Windows Mail stores all email messages as EML files. You can cop0y these to the other computer and drag them from Windows Explorer into an OE folder. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM "Rennie" wrote in message ... Opps!!! Thank you for the quick response. Oh so right you are!! I have begun the task. I can copy the *.eml files across as you instructed, but of course I have to create a folder in OE to put them. So 2 down 38 to go. Thank you very much. A thought . . . Is this an opportunity to write/provide a seperate utility to allow users to import/export/transport folders with emails between different versions of MS E Mail clients, nuff said, I am just real happy that I can get back my E Mails. Next task, . . . now where did that contacts folder go??? I wonder if it will like being a *.wab??? Please change title to read "MS-EMVP OE/WM". I don't think anyone ever thought of the possibility of someone wanting to
import mail backwards like that. I no longer write programs. There is no similarity between the way Vista stores contacts and the way OE does. I don't have Vista available to me right now, but if you can export a Vista contact as a vcard, the WAB can import the .vcf files. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM "Rennie" wrote in message ... contacts Thanks for the tip, a vcard is a vcard . . . is a vcard regardless of the E Mail client. Who would have thought, sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees. Thanks for all your help, the E Mail transfer is finished. My OEX program now will let you point to a directory of eml files and import
them into OE. I'm working on making the other features work with WinMail. www.oehelp.com/OEX/ steve "Rennie" wrote in message ... Frank Thank you for the quick response. Oh so right you are!! Microsoft developers have very limited point of view, unfortunately.
After Vista beta run expires there will be hundred thousands of people going back to XP. Personally, I returned to XP after 7 days run. Jack "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM" wrote in message ...
