Hi All
There was a folder (my own data folder) on my desktop which I had tried to delete to no avail. Always got the message saying the file was used by some process. Then I found out from somewhere on the web that I had to disable the Windows Search Service. I disabled the Windows Search service and delete all the files in the folder, including Windows.edb, tmp.edb, etc. After that, when I tried to restart the Windows Search Service, I got this error: Vista Windows could not start the Windows Search service on Local Computer Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified. Can anybody help? I searched the Internet but couldn't find any help http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/Sho...20636&SiteID=1 http://www.techsupportforum.com/micr...ng-closed.html http://www.howtofixcomputers.com/for...art-39407.html I couldn't do anything Indexing Options but it says that the Windows Search service is not running. Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6000] Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:\Windows\system32net start wsearch The Windows Search service is starting. The Windows Search service could not be started. A system error has occurred. System error 3 has occurred. The system cannot find the path specified. C:\Windows\system32 |
