I performed a "search" for a portion of a name of an encryption program that
we deleted from our computer because it didn't appear to be fully compatible with vista, even tho the creators said it was (they did admit tho that they didn't test it)...the "search" turned up 335 items, most of which were "image files". We cannot delete the thumbnails because it says the file or folder has been deleted. These items came up as search results in indexed locations. we tried to go to the location and delete that way with no luck either.............HELP!!!! |

This must be more of the mystery that surrounds Vista... I look forward to
the answer to Lori's dilema. deernut_00 "Lori" wrote: I performed a "search" for a portion of a name of an encryption program that we deleted from our computer because it didn't appear to be fully compatible with vista, even tho the creators said it was (they did admit tho that they didn't test it)...the "search" turned up 335 items, most of which were "image files". Help with what? Your post is confusing.
You searched for a program you had uninstalled? Did you find it? What were these 355 items? Were they part of the program? If you found thumbnails of images that have been deleted, then the thumbnail database can be refreshed. The easiest way to do that is to run the Disk Cleanup. Start - Computer right-click on C:, and select Properties click on Disk Cleanup - Files from all users make sure Thumbnails is checked.... you can uncheck the others if you don't want to delete them now. ok -- http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview "Lori" wrote in message ... I suspect I have the same problem. I deleted a series of files recently.
Using the search feature, I found that the deleted files appeared inthe list and when I try to selete them they will not delete since they are not there yet they are still listed and I would like for them to not list... good thought! it's been a few days already (since Thursday, but I will give
it a week!) thanks "R. C. White" wrote: Hi, glesiafc. Have you given Indexing Options enough time? IO works only in the background so as not to interfere with "live" activities, so it might take a day or two to rebuild the index and delete references to deleted files. If those files are still found next week, please post back. Your problem may be the same as Lori's - or maybe not. RC -- R. C.
