VGASAVE conflicting with Intel(R) P965/G965 PCI Express Root Port
I have been trying to install proprietary drivers for my NVidia based card
(8600GT) However a resource conflict between drivers for VGASAVE and Intel's PCI Express root hub has prevented successful installation of any updated video drivers. I have uninstalled all video drivers, ran driversweep, as well as uninstalled all the drivers for Intel's chipset and reinstalled updated drivers for them with the latest .INF files from Intel for the 965 Chipset. Upon successful installation I checked the properties for the PCI-E Root Hub drivers and found the file containing drivers to be pci.sys from Microsoft and not Intel and the persistent resource conflict under VGASAVE. Will I be forced to re-install vista and use the latest inf files from Intel at setup to overcome the conflict. Or is there a way I can uncheck the greyed out "Use Automatic Settings" under the resource tab for VGASAVE? |
