Hello,
I would like to know if I can recover data that was saved using Window's Vista "Restore and Backup" application in an XP setting? Basically, I was using Vista and backing up my files every month until a virus just wiped out my computer. I had to reboot the OS first with XP. I lost my product key to use my Vista express upgrade disk and Microsoft is not helping me out. I don't mind staying with XP, but now I need a way to recover my files that was stored under Vista. I believe some of my Palm files were stored in a ..DAT format and that is the important data I need to retrieve. Any help would be appreciated. |

Hi, Hastalavista
There is a way to manually grab your files from the Zip: http://blogs.technet.com/filecab/arc...from-zips.aspx Please be aware that messing around with your zip files might corrupt the backup files, so you should only do that if you're really sure you will keep with XP. You also might lose some file info - like dates, for instance... []s --Malu "hastalavista" wrote in message ...
