Default Driver for Realtek HD Audio

I have really come to Love Vista, however I am not able to have audio. I
have tried using several connections from work and home and even from an
inlaws home on a different provider. I have had no luck downloading the
drivers from RealTek as it seams that their server is not functioning very
well. It tells me that the file is about 12megs which is fine then tells me
it is going to take 4 hours to downlaod and after about 4-5 minutes it resets
the connection. this has happened from every internet connection that I have
found. If anyone knows of any alternative place to download the Vista Beta
Drivers for the RealTek let me know. The links I have been using are located
at http://realtek.com.tw/downloads and thats it. Thanks everyone!!

My first thought is that your IE security settings might be preventing you
from downloading. Are you able to download anything from anywhere else?

that was the funny part, I can download files from every site I have ever
visited. I can download 12 meg files in a minute or two. I download from
softpedia.com download.com, I frequently download from sourceforge ect.
However this one file as it turns out is the most difficult file I have ever
tried to download or acquire. And as I had stated in my previous post I
tried thru my work which uses multiple T3's, I tried from home (Comcast Cable
Internet) and I have tried from the in laws (Cable One High Speed) so this
has been crazy. I have put out an email to tech support at RealTek hoping
that they will have an alternate solution or just email the files to my gmail
as requested. We will see if they do I will certainly make them available to
anyone else who needs them via one of my personal web sites or something.
Maybe I will make an arangement with them to be a mirror site.

So none of these are working for you ?

ftp://152.104.238.194/pc/audio/5302_PG218_Vista.zip
ftp://61.56.86.122/pc/audio/5302_PG218_Vista.zip
ftp://202.65.194.18/pc/audio/5302_PG218_Vista.zip

The 2. link is slowly working for me, and I'm downloading it now.
If you let us know a place to upload/send it,

I did manage to download the beta Vista HD audio drivers from Realtek
(Taiwan server). Same file as you are trying to get. Installs fine, loses
sound all the time. I went back to Vista's own generic HD audio driver and
the problem went away.

The Realtek drivers worked fine with RC1 and Build 5728 but seem broken in
RC2 Build 5744.

Robert,

I installed the Realtek HD beta drivers because Vista RC2 didn't recognise
the hardware. Since then it seems to randomly report that sound devices could
not be found.

How did you persuade Vista to use the built-in HD drivers?

Any help appreciated.
