Default using printer

i want to use my printer (currently connected to my xp computer) with my
vista laptop. BUT when I try to open my xp pc on the network page on vista
it asks for a user name and password. I have tried all possible options but
none work - also the xp pc has the domain name same as the vista laptop. SO
the question is....what di i do....can I bypass the password etc...or can i
find it somewhere....or is there an easier way of using the printer.

You may try to turn of password protection or create the same username on
both computer. Or this post may help.

Vista prompts for password event ...Vista prompts for password event
password protection off ... Cases: Vista networking Try to create the same
username and the same password in all computers. ...

Default you might know this

if you dont know this connecting to another vista laptop does the same thing.
You are supposed to enter your windows username and password in that box
where it says username and password
