Default How do I reinstall a decoder?? help!!!

how do I reinstall a decoder I can't seem to find any info on this anywhere
I need to know this information specifically about windows vista beta2 build
5384 not XP
my decoder has become currupted somehow I just need to know where it's
located and how to extract it form the vista dvd and reinstall it does
anyone know how to do this ?? or has anyone had this prob and fixed it ??
I don't really want to do a format and reinstall of the OS but if it comes
to that I will have to

Have you tried the Control Panel Programs & Features - under "Turn WIndows
features on or off"? - that's where I'd look.

I might try to run the media center optimiser who knows that may work

Default How do I reinstall a decoder?? help!!!

The reason for this behavior is that the "trial period" on MPEG-2 codecs
needed for MCE/DVD playback/burn has expired around 8/31 in Vista Beta 2.
Using RC1 is the right solution for now. The codecs in final Vista release
would not have such an expiration.
