The decoder file is MSMPEG2VDEC.DLL and is located in your system32 folder
however having said this I'm not sure as to how I repair it I'm windows Xp you would be able to restore a system file with "system file checker" however as far as I know you can't do that with vista not sure if this helps you I'll let you know if I work anything out "JW" wrote in message ... What DVD player are you using in Vista Media Center or Media Player? Have you tried them both? "Max" wrote in message ... I recently installed vista beta 2 on my computer. I was able to play dvds when i had xp and now i cannot because i am missing a decoder. Do i need to reinstall some of the original software? And in another post i read that vista comes with a decoder, how do i use it? Help...I just want to watch movies. -- |
