My folders have lost titles and now show modified time & date. HELP!!!
Hi, hope theres someone out there with a solution to this ugly problem on Vista!! Every folder and icon on my laptop has somehow changed from its normal title to the modified time and date. However, when I open up windows explorer it shows as documents, pictures, games etc in the left hand part, but in the main window and on desktop etc they show this annoying date and time making it hard to track down anything!! Anybody got any ideas?? I've searched all over the place for an anwser Thanks :geek: Paul -- Roddan |

Hi Paul,
This is an interesting one. Can you post a screenshot? Was this problem seen after using a third-party tweaker program or something? You can always try a System Restore rollback then. -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "Roddan" wrote in message ... My folders have lost titles and now show modified time & date. HELP!!!
Hi Ramesh, I already tried a restore but hasn't done anything. I've attached a a couple of screen dumps for you to look at to look at. Its an odd one. It effects every file, folder, icon, word doc etc on the laptop. When I look at the options in a window to decide what I want it to show, the name option is missing. I'm not too sure about a tweaker program!? I dont know what one is, which sort of tells me I probably haven't run one Thanks for your time. Paul,
I don't see any screenshots attached. You may send it to ramesh (at) mvps (.dot) org. -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "Roddan" wrote in message ... My folders have lost titles and now show modified time & date.
Hi,
I got the same problems as Paul I think. In my case only the authors are shown and I cannot choose the filename to show. I tried a lot. Searching Google get no results. It is apparently not possible to add a Screenprint to this message. KR, Dennis "Ramesh, MS-MVP" wrote: Paul, I don't see any screenshots attached.
