Aargh! I hate album art - I'm inundated with it and am unhappy that it takes
up so much greatly needed space on my screen! I'm spending hours trying to
get rid of it.

Does the Details (rather than Icon/Tile) view work for you?

Sure! But that's in folders. I was referring to the media player library on
screen. The very first column is Album Art and, unlike all other columns, it
can't be deleted. Why?

No - it's in WMP v11 too! Look immediately to the left of the Search box.

The box at the top-right of the library with "search" written in it...

Oops! I must be blind in my right eye. What an idiot I am. Sorry!

I see what you mean. If I click on 'Details' the Albun Art column disappears.
