Hello.
I have a problem when I play DVDs on Windows Vista Pre-RC1 and RC1 (I haven't tried on Beta 2) : I have no sound or there are crackings instead of the correct sound when I play my DVDs on Media Player or Media Center. I don't have the problem when I play MPEG movies stored on my hard drive. I don't have any problems at all when playing DVDs with Windows XP. Thanks for your answers. Patrick Schevenels |

I get sound fading. Sound level decreases over say ten or fiftenn minutes to
nothing. If I log off and back on it is restored. Sounds like you need updated sound card drivers, check the manufacturers
website. -- http://adacosta.spaces.live.com "Schevenels Patrick" wrote in message ... Hello. Are you using Media Center to play the dvd's? According to the RC1 FAQ, sound
problems with DVD playback in MC are a known issue. "Schevenels Patrick" wrote: Hello. Was this a clean install of RC1, or an upgrade from earlier pre-releases of
Vista? We are investigating an issue with the setup of audio decoder during upgrades. Clean install should not have this problem, AFAIK. We would like to know if it is otherwise. Totally clean. Formatted the whole HD prior to doing installation.

We have isolated the problem to a code defect in audio decoder that shows-up
on Intel Pentium 3 or AMD K7 class of processors. Naveen Thumpudi [MS] ---- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers not rights. "HagarTheHorrible" wrote: Totally clean.
