Default can't turn off welcome sound

ok so I've tried all the 'sounds' options - I've set them to 'no sounds' and
I've looked through the registry for the key - I've even searched my harddisk
for all the media files that it could be - but I can't turn off the welcome
sound that comes on when I boot my PC (and before I logon)

Can someone help me?

I'm running 5600

That sound has now been hardcoded in and cannot be removed.

Irritating, isn't it?

You're joking right?

What about businesses where they can't affort to have those sounds happening
all the time!?? What about James Bond where he boots up his Windows Vista
attack machine in the target's basement and wakes them up with the Welcome
Sound...

Argh - there must be a way of removing it!
