I put the shortcut icon of a programme on my desktop. When the time came to
eliminate the file, I removed it in the usual way. However, I did not remove the icon and the removal process did not remove the icon. Now, I cannot remove the icon as I can all others, by selecting it and then deleting it. Is there a process to get rid of these orphan icons? John Reid |

Is my face red!
I had made several attempts to get rid of the icon in question and nothing had happened. Then I wrote my item on this Board. I then turned off my computer for two days - out golfing. When I came back, I checked this board, and cycled to my desktop. The icon was gone! Thanks to those who answered. John Reid "PC Medic" wrote in message ... "John Reid" wrote in message ...
