I installed a clean version of vista. during installiation it took my old
files and stored them in a file named windows old. is there a way to reinstall my old settings and files? |

Hi, If it was a clean install, it would have involved formating the hard drive. There should have been nothing left over from the old install since it would have been wiped out. Was this a Upgrade install instead? You should be able to copy the files you want out of the windows.old folder and paste them where you like in your new installation.
