I have the same issue on RC1. AMD64 X2 3800 AM2 with 2Gb ram and GeForce 6200
PCI express card with Nvidia driver for Vista. The playback is sluggish and bad quality (sound is perfect, though) in WMP and worse in media center. Only in full screen mode, though, when I reduce the window size to smth like 640X400 (not sure about the exact numbers) pixels it works fine. I am using 1920X1200 resolution on my 24" widescreen dell LCD. "ZAZ" wrote: I have a weird problem when playing DVDs. DVD Video is choppy and stutters ALOT. Use WMP and tried PowerDVD, though I was notified of a compatibility issue with PowerDVD 6.0 when installed on Vista beta 2. However, online videos, such as ones from MSNBC work fine. My graphics card is a Geforce FX 5200 PCI (not PCI-express) with 256 MB video memory (I was one of those people who bought a system without an AGP slot several years ago...man I regret it!). Have 1 GB of dual channel DDR memory. When running XP Home SP2, any video playback (online, DVD, etc) worked smoothly and no stuttering of video, even with the PCI graphics card. I don't believe that it is the fault of the graphics card b/c Aero Glass runs perfectly at 1440 X 900 resolution (widescreen), but I am not sure. If anyone knows why I am experiencing stuttering DVD playback, please reply to my post ASAP. Thanks. |
