Some suggest to deactivate the "SSDP Discovery Service" or to "Clear Past Items from the Notification Area": http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=283084 Please let us know if one of these helps. You can manually bring up the 'Safely Remove Hardware' dialog by this commandline: rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll Uwe |

Safely Remove Hardware
I entered HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\
but there is no TrayNotify in here. How can I manually bring up? "Uwe Sieber" wrote: Bado86 wrote: When I connect any usb device, Safely Remove Hardware icon doesn't appear. Have you really looked for a key named TrayNotify, not a value? Bado86 wrote: I entered HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\ but there is no TrayNotify in here.
