Vista Hardware Install
After much searching, I still can't seem to find an answer to this
problem. On my Vista Ultimate x64, when I plug in a new piece of Hardware, it starts searching, quickly discounts the Preconfigured Folders, then takes forever on Windows Update, before prompting me to Insert a Disc. When I hit "I don't have a disc", then "Browse", and tell it "C: \Windows", within a minute it finds the driver and installs, no problems. The problem is it takes so long to get anything installed, and requires a lot of user input. Does anyone know either: a) How to add C:\Windows to the Preconfigured Folders or b) Fix the problem! Thanks :-) |
