Every time I right click an image file (in this instance a .jpg image) and
try to open it with Paint Shop Pro 9.0.1.1, I get an error message saying

"Windows cannot find D:\Documents\Wickford Map1. Make sure you typed the
name correctly and then try again."

I have tried opening image files located in D:\Pictures and get the same
message!

However whether I left click or right click any of these images from within
their folders, they do successfully open with Windows Photo Gallery? I can
also open any of these files from within Paint Shop Pro, without a problem.

I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the way I changed the location
of these files from C:\Users\Myname\Documents to D:\Documents etc? Perhaps I
chose the wrong option regarding what to do about moving, copying or keeping
the desktop.ini files?

Any help would be appreciated as this is driving me insane!

It's OK folks - mystery solved! (As usual, with no thanks to Microsoft I
hasten to add!) No I decided to visit Corel's knowledge Base instead - and
found the solution in less than 2 minutes! The solution was to edit the
registry as follows:

1) IMPORTANT: Export the registry and save it under a suitable file name, so
that you will able to restore the registry should anything go wrong!
2) Open HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
3) Open Applications key
4) Open Paint Shop Pro key
5) Open Shell key
6) Open ddeexec key
7) Click the Application key to highlight it
8) On the right pane, double click the header labelled "default" to open
string dialog
9) Change "Paint Shop Pro" to "Paint Shop Pro 9" (minus the parenthesies)
10) Click OK to accept
11) Close Registry Edit

PROBLEM SORTED!!!

Firstly, I do not think that Microsoft should supply tech help with either
an outdated or even an updated version of Paint Shop Pro!

Secondly, as Vista has not reported that version 9.0.1.1 was incompatible
with my Vista OS and as this version still does everything I need it to do
and more, I saw no real justification for laying out money I simply could not
afford, on buying a later version!

And thirdly, as the error message said "Windows cannot find
D:\Documents\Wickford Map1. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then
try again" I think I could be forgiven for believing this might be a Windows
problem (more specifically a Vista one) - as there were several other posts
reporting similar "Windows cannot find...." problems with other types of
files. But obviously, you don't agree.....

There again, I am just an ordinary, humble 59-year old woman who has taught
herself how to use and (successfully) maintain a very healthy PC system - so
what do I know, eh?!!! But as usual, with perseverance and determination, I
still managed to find the answer myself though, didn't I?!! So I really don't
know why most of you "Experts" insist on keep treating me with such
condescension and condemnation? Is it just a man thing? Or don't you think
self-taught PC users should ask for help from Microsoft communities at all?!!
Or perhaps it's simply because I occassionally dare to suggest a possible
cause for my problem? If so, I would be grateful if you would tell me how you
would like me to word questions in future, so that I may try to avoid cuasing
you any further irritation?
