Default DVD-R vs DVD+R

Hello, I see that I can create DVD video disks in Vista. Please recommend me
what media should I burn discs onto: DVD-R or DVD+R. I want my discs to play
on the most DVD players (not on computers).

Thank you for any help and links!

Hi George

You shoud visit Club CD Freaks at htt://cdfreaks.com, because that community
knows everything about hardware combatibility and 'what is the best medium'.
I personally have used DVD+R double layer disks from TDK and they have worked
without any problems in my Daewoo DVD player. Maybe I should thank GEAR
Software for their exellent products, visit at http://gearsoftware.co to get
trial versions ( those products seem to compatible with Vista RC1).

As I wrote in newsgroup:
microsoft.public.windows.vista.general
topic:
CD/DVD lower and upper filter unsigned drivers installed silently

I hate software that will install lower and/or upper filters for my DVD
burner, because this causes a lot of problems. That includes GEAR Software
(GEARAspiWDM). On the other hand, since I perform the build process of DVDs
on my Testing windows installation, the main installation is safe, so I can
try if GEAR`s demo software is worth it.

Thank You for the idea and especially for the link!

That really depends on your burner. DVD players will recognise both, the
issue is with your burner. you either have a + burner, a - burner or a +/-
burner that will do both. Personally, I use DVD+r but that is just me..
