Windows explorer in Vista 32-bit crashes when it has to create preview
thumbnails for large numbers of video files. I had my video folder on my half terabyte media drive crash windows explorer about 30 times before it finished rendering all of the 3-D icons for the videos and video folders. After it completed this process, it did not crash afterwards. In this initial phase, however, it was very aggravating. I did update the OS this round instead of clean installing it (I know, I know) and of course it was a much buggier experience than the prior clean install. I think I am comparing apples to oranges, however, because this is the 32 bit version, and I was allways clean installing the 64 bit version. The previous 64 bit version did not seem to render them the same way, so I did not have that specific problem, but that was on the earlier beta as well. |
