Hi there,
Okay, here is the situation... Just got my hands on a fully loaded Dell D830, running Vista Ultimate. All is good with the world whilst connected to the LAN. Vista connects to all the drives, and has no *noticeable* slowdowns -- I can power up the laptop and be ready to use it within 90 seconds... But this all changes once I disconnect and go remote. If I have to reboot the laptop, it will take 8 to 10 minutes before it becomes usable. The laptop is part of a Windows 2003 domain, and a number of GPO's are linked to the OU (user and machine). My gut feeling is that Vista is attempting to connect all the network drives, as they are set as persistent in the login script. This does not happen under XP... Anyone got any trouble-shooting tips for this? Regards, |
