I am trying to hide our general staff VISTA PC's from the network browse list.
Previously, in XP I was able to issue the command net config server /hidden:yes via a startup script in a GPO and although I've done this, the following is true: 1) Browse the network from an XP box and only the important servers appear (desired) 2) Browse the network from a VISTA box and all the other vista machines together with the important servers are shown, but none of the remaining XP boxes are shown. I want to be able to hide all VISTA boxes from each other. Obviously I need network discover turned on and I wish to have file sharing on for administration. Any ideas? Steve |

Right click on the Command Prompt icon and select "Run as administrator"
at the command prompt type in "net config server /hidden:yes" , without the quotes Freddy "sbwdc" wrote: I am trying to hide our general staff VISTA PC's from the network browse list.
