Ok guys, here's what's up. I am using my laptop to connect to a wireless router that is connected to the internet. What I am trying to accomplish is to have my Xbox360 to connect through the internet through my laptop using ICS, but the xbox can't connect to the internet. The laptop is on Vista Home Premium 32bit. Windows Firewall has been turned off completely while testing, the comp. does have nortons so I disabled it from turning on at startup and it is not running. I have read these forums and it seems no one has an exact answer to this problem, but I'm going to try and see if mine is different. There are a few places I think the hold up could be at... 1: At the manage network connections page it shows the wireless NIc connected to internet, should I be clicking its properties and then going to sharing and enabling it? (i have it enabled on the connection the 360 is plugged to, the wired LAN) because there is no sharing tab under the wireless NIC that acually has the internet connection. I enabled sharing on the LAN NIC that is free(the one the xbox360 is connected to). 2: It is showing my LAN(xbox360 connection) as " 'unidentified network', shared ". All connections are set to private network. under status it shows sent packets, but no received packets. i click diagnose and repair and try to make it autoassign new IP, and even reset network adapter, doesn't help. I have updated both NIC's driver's, they are current. here is my ipconfig /all as well.... ALL help is GREATLY appreciated!! Ok I have a 360 and have it configured the same way in vista. Turn the 360
off. After you share the wireless connection to the LAN it should give it the ip of 192.168.0.1. You need to change that to 192.168.0.2 for it to work for some reason. Then after that is done turn the 360 back on and you should have a connection. And I have had problems with Mcaffee firewall if you have that. "Keithl322" wrote: Ok guys, here's what's up.
