I'm hoping somebody can help me here, I have been through every forum trying to find a fix for this problem and it seems a lot of people are having it, but other than the regedit fix nothing is working other than a rebuild. My problem: - I was using offlines on a share from a machine called '\\Dellp4\share1' (file://\\Dellp4\share1), this machine went dead and another was builded but named '\\server\share1' (file://\\server\share1) - My machine XPSnotebook still saw the old share and would not let me delete it, so I tried the egedit thing discussed by some as: REG ADD HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSC\Paramet ers" /v FormatDatabase /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f - This seemed to clear my dtabase but now I can not right click on the network and choose make available offline, it's just not in the menu - When I go to offline files it says 'Offlines files is enabled but not yet active. restart the computer to activate the computer.' - I restart the computer, but still nothing, I restart again, I disabled offline files, restart, and then enable. Nothing - Other computers on the network can make the files available offline, just not mine computer.Does anyone know how resolve this or how to re-install offline files Cheers in advance Greg -- wildgr |
