device manager error code 37
Device manager in diplay device is reporting that Windows cannot initialize
the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37). This has just started to happen, I have tried uninstalling the radeon drivers. I have tried another card but still get the same message. |

Are you running x86 or x64 Vista? What video card? How about some
specifics. "Les" wrote in message ... Device manager in diplay device is reporting that Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37). I am also getting code 37 and have not installed/uninstalled any new hardware
or software. The "help" I can find doesn't seem to address code 37 but quite a few others. Does anyone know of a specific place online that addresses this? Thanks, Janis "Les" wrote: Device manager in diplay device is reporting that Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37). ....AND I have not recently upgraded to Vista -- it came on the Gateway
laptop when I bought it. All updates have been installed and recently, there have been quite a few everyday. likely solution: Go to 'this link at the microsoft.com technet' (http://forums.microsoft.com/technet/...&tf=0&pageid=0) forum and read the 6-23-08 posting by Egarcia titled Answer Code 37 - Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Vista Home Edition). The solution completely fixed all my problems (well, not my relations with my ex, but all my vista/error 37 issues), and that of dozens others with similar issues. For comparative reference: I was having sudden and numerous problems on my acer 6920 - a half dozen "code-37" errors ID'd in the devices control panel, and failure of laptop's keyboard, built-in mouse, and all audio devices. Then i found the Microsoft thread referenced above. Twenty minutes later, including restart, everything's working perfectly. -- moxrox ------------------------------------------------------------------------ moxrox's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?u=52630 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=914213 http://forums.techarena.in |
