In Vista Beta 2 there was an option to direct sound from different programs
through different sound cards - eg I could set my surround sound card as the default for movies but just use my motherboard onboard sound for music and applications sounds. Where has this option gone in RC1? Another issue I'm having: no matter which of my sound cards I try to use, I can't get sound from DVD's or some digital TV channels. I think it's the channels that use Dolby, but I'm not sure. I've hunted through every options dialogue I can find and I just can't fix the problem. All I hear when I try to view one of these sources is a bit of deep crackle, then nothing. |

Regarding my second issue, I just read a post from September indicating a bug
with AMD K7 family processors and the WMP audio decoder. I have a K7 processor. As I am apparently too late to get RC2, are there any other workarounds for this issue? |
