I have the exact same problem. Every-time I update Vista IE7 says that is can
not connect to the internet even though the Network connection is working and I can download patches through the OS. I have not tried the Windows Firewall yet, but I will. Hopefully that helps. I do not run Norton, so I'm not sure what could be interfering with the update. "Bob" wrote: I have my month old computer with windows vista home premium. On 12th of February 2008 I run Microsoft update to update my computer like I have done for years with no problems. I install all 38mb of the 11 new recommended Microsoft updates. IE7 will not connect to Internet. I get "Internet Explorer cannot display web page". I used IE7 right before I did update and it worked fine. I rolled back the updates through windows system restore and IE7 worked fine. It is the windows update that caused the problem. I installed the updates again for security and sure enough IE7 does not work. I use firefox for now but I like IE7 better and want it back. How do I get IE7 to work? Will Microsoft have a fix? The big question is is everyone else having the same trouble after they update vista? What do I do to get IE7 to work with the latest vista updates? Thanks for the help Bob |

Hello! Well I guess I am one of the many that also have problems connecting to the internet. I found this page a read youre posts. I can't get any webpage working, and ontop of that all programs I have that need internet access (such as Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Steam, Playonline, Hlsw, Msn, yahoo messenger and so on) don't work. When the applications start I get an error and they shut down. And this all happened after I downloaded the latest updates via " windows update ". I installed the updates from the 14th and the 15th and since then non of the applications work and neither does the web explorer. I hope that Mircrsoft comes out with a new update that actually fixes this soon. Because the solution of uninstalling Vista and installing XP is one I would rather avoid. -- Noctamid Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

You can also put your Norton FW into learning mode long enough to give the modified IE executable permission to start. -- Redviper Q6600, DFI Lanparty P35 T2R EVGA ACS3 8800GTX 4x1gig GSkill,Xfi EG Antec Truepower 1000w Liquid cooled MM U2-UFO case with all Noctua fans (1st quiet PC) 3xMemorex DL DVD burners 2x500gig SG SATA2 1x300gig SG SATA2, 2x150gig RaptorX SATA 1x500gig WD Mybook |

MS auto updates cone out on the 2nd tuesday of the month, not the 14th and
15th. Look for something else! -- Mick Murphy - Qld - Australia "Noctamid" wrote: Hello! Well I guess I am one of the many that also have problems connecting to the internet.
