In Windows Vista, is there a way to hide the Network icon from the System
Tray? This functionality was present in Windows XP (via properties).... it is no longer there in Windows Vista... Reason I need it... I am ALWAYS connected to my college LAN and to the internet via the same proxy server... my network status NEVER changes... so I don't need that icon... whats worse... it doesn't even auto hide if I do nothing to it for a long time. Please tell me if I am missing something. -- Sushovan, a crazy junior |

To hide the network icon in vista you need to do the following steps: In taskbar right click and select properties than go to notification area and under system icons unselect the network and your network icon in taskbar will be removed. Hope it was helpful -- zer01ne |
