Folder opening options
I have tried to set my folders to open separately rather than one folder
replacing another because I want to have two or more open at once. However, although I have on numerous occasions tried to change the settings, Vista seems to ignore this and I can only have one folder open at a time. Has anyone else found this? |

Folder opening options
The 'Open each folder in it's own window' option only seems to work when the
Navigation pane is not displayed. Vista is different from XP in that the default verb for folders, 'Open'(no Navigation pane) vs. 'Explore'(Navigation pane displayed), is dynamic and based on the current state of the Explorer window. In an Explorer window where the Navigation pane is displayed, you can open a folder in a new window by right-clicking the folder & selecting 'Open' rather than the default 'Explore' -- Good Luck, Keith Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] "MJJ" wrote in message ... Hi MJJ, This will show you how to have a folder to open in the same or separate window when you click on it. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/91...ew-window.html Shawn -- Brink *There are no dumb questions, just the people that do not ask them.* '*Vista Forums*' (http://www.vistax64.com/index.php?referrerid=2980) *Please post feedback to help others.* |
