Search for files doesn't search mountpoints
OS: Vista x64 Ent ENG, SP1
I use mountpoints on my computer to manage my USB-disks. When i try a search from within Windows Explorer the search result doesn't return any findings located on any of the mounted volumes == Please fix! :-) Example: C:\ (System Partition on internal disk) D:\ (Partition on computers internal disk) D:\Docs (Directory on the partition D D:\Mountpoints\USB1 (Mounted volume on USB disk 1) D:\Mountpoints\USB2 (Mounted volume on USB disk 2) D:\Mountpoints\USB2\Docs (Directory containing documents on the mountet volume) D:\Mountpoints\USBx (Mounted volume on USB disk 3) So, if I want to search for documents (.DOC) and start a search from D:\ the result will only return files from the D: - drive itself. If I try a search from D:\MOUNTPOINTS\USB2 I do get the .DOC files from that volume ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes.
