Default VPN Problem

,In Beta 2 of Vista I had no problems connecting to my Windows 2003 SBE
server via VPN. Now that I have RC1 it won't setup. In fact, it doesn't
even say why it won't connect. The diagnose button doesn't work either. And
when I try to go and look at the advanced settings I can find the VPN
connection at all. However if I try to create it again it says that it all
ready exists. Help! This has always been easy but RC1 is making it hard.

Default VPN Problem

Hi Kirby,
1- First of all for the issue of not connecting, what is the error
that you get? The server hasn't changed from the last time isn't it?
2- For the network connection disappearing from the network connections
folder:
(i) Did you create the VPN connection from the network center?
(ii) Did you choose the option to create and connect it at the same
time?

Default VPN Problem

Janani,

I am having the same problem as Kirby. I do not get an error message, at
least not directly. When you retry to connect, it will try for some time.
Well you get the impression that it is trying to connect, however seconds
after you have chosen to retry it will beep (like an error message box, but
no box appears).

I am new to Vista, I only entered the program with RC 1. So I cannot give
comments on Beta 2.

Kind Regards,

Gill

Default VPN Problem

Janani,

Just found the problem while researching answers to your questions, I
rebooted. and I was able to find the connections I setup yesterday. Now
that I can see the properties I see that if require data encryption is
checked it won't connect. So problem solved.

Still a bug for you guys, but my problem is solved! :-)

Kirby,
Thanks for the update! One more question to follow up on the other issue
- Is "Maximun Encryption" selected on the server side on the remote access
polcy?
- What is the authentication method that you are using?
- Can you send the ras tracing logs from the client and server. Steps to
collect the logs are at
