Hi All,
I am running Vista Home premium with all the latest updates(Not installed SP1 yet). Today I am trying unzip eclipse file (around 144 MB). Vista is taking long time and saying remaining 2 hour like that. After 2-3 minutes I stopped it. I then used another thirdparty zip application and it was unzipped in less than one minute. Why vista is so slow in unzipping the files. Any solution to improve this ? |

Supposedly sp1 will fix this, but I have sp1 and it hasn't helped much.
I suspect this issue is related to the copying files from one spot of the drive to another, as unzipping copies the file from the archive, to the temp directory (same drive) Again, sp1 is supposed to address this as well as the network copying issue--and I can say that the network issue is MUCH faster.
