assigning midi devices
Qttoking: Microsoft left it out in Vista.. there's not a UI configuration changer for Midi in Vista like there is for XP :-( .. the only way to do it is directly in the registry, unfortunately. Qttoking;937539 Wrote: Thanks for this great first step!!! Now I can choose the midi output that I want but, Where are the "properties tab" to configure (like in xp) Thanks again -- Saxsinger Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

assigning midi devices
Hello, I am having similar issues here. It is astounding to me that such a simple thing would be left out of such a major distribution and that resolving the issue is so difficult. Has anyone determined a way to enable the use of a Midiman Uno device in Vista? I downloaded Vista-specific drivers from the manufacturer, they installed correctly but the devidce does not show up in any applications. I downloaded the little app posted here, installed it, and ran it without success. Any advice? -- jtrick Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

I've finally sorted this - it was pretty easy in the end. Download the attached file (requires .NET framework 2.0 which you've probably got installed anyway) unzip and run. C# source code is available on code project for anyone interested 'here' (http://www.codeproject.com/KB/audio-...utSetter.aspx). To download the source code from code project, you have to sign up (free), but you can view the article without, and download the application itself here. +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: midioutsetterbin.zip | |Download: 153 | +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- daveym69 Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |
