I have 2 computers networked one running Vista and is wired to my router and
the other an old ME and is a wireless connection. Both computers recognize each other and I can access all folders on the ME computer from the Vista with no problems. I have the ME computer allowed only to see the public folder on the Vista. The ME can see the folders allowed however when I try to access them the compter freezes. After a 5 minutes it is no longer frozen however I haven't accessed the Vista public folders. Is this a compatiblity problem or am I missing a setup somewhere? Thanks, -- Norton |

Is this a compatiblity problem or am I missing a setup somewhere? There's a known problem with computers running Windows 9x (95, 98, ME), accessing computers running Windows Vista, and freezing. I've not yet seen a fix for it though. http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2007/07/computer-for-virginia-usa.html http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2007/0...ginia-usa.html -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP 2005-2007 [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
