Default Help Please, I dunno what else to do...

Hi everyone. Anyways, my computer is really slow then it just freezes
after a while.

This started a few days ago. I turned on my computer, had a bite to
eat. Then when I went to my room, my computer suddenly re-started
itself. Then I began to notice it was really slow; I looked at the
clocked it it was reseted to like "12:00 am" and the date was like in
year 2005."

It frooze so I restarted and at the beginning I was able to run a
program but minutes later it begins to be really slow until it freezes
for good.

So I just went to "safe" mode and the speed on my computer and
everything is normal. It's just when I go into normal mode that's when
it's just horrible.

I scanned for virus and nothing; cleaned all cookies and such and it
didn't work.

I dunno what else to do...Please help. Or any suggestions on what I can
do.

Have you tried using your system restore option, yet?

I tried that; but unfortunately there wasn't a store point set on my
computer. I should have set a store point...now I'm lost.

Hi Surfer,

You can try doing a repair install to see if that can fix your problem.

Laptop or desktop?

This is unusual. Reset your clock and date again, turn off your computer,
then UNPLUG your computer

Wait an hour, plug it in, and turn it back on again....does the time and
date reset again?

Let me tell you where I am going with this--typically, the date and time are
retained in BIOS by a cmos battery which enables you to turn off and unplug
your computer and it still remembers the time and date. The spontaneous
reboot and reset of date and time kind of lead me to believe we are talking
about a fundamental hardware issue--perhaps an electric short circuit even.

This is VERY VERY rare. any change you can shed more light on things? Water
anywhere near your computer?
