The Windows firewall blocks just about everything by default rendering your machine to an island unto itself. Once autheticated, then you can add allow all rules for your LAN and re-enable the firewall. There are no released GPOs for Vista that you can import into a Windows 2003 DC and configure via group policy. If there are, that would be the way to go long term, or use a third party firewall. -- Edward Ray CCIE Security, CISSP, GCIA Gold, GCIH Gold, MCSE+Security, PE |

Hey WebGuy,
Try joining it with the NetBIOS name instead of the FQDN... that usually solves that issue. M -- MDG, MCT MCSA (2003), MCSA (2000), MCDST.
