Hi there,
Quite often I find that my laptop doesnt seem to respond to anything in the centre of my screen. It doesnt recognise any folders in the middle and doesnt let me move ones nearer the outside to the middle, it doesnt let me click on any links in the middle of the screen, etc etc. This is getting pretty irriating as I keep having to minimize and move everthing to one side so i can click one one thing or clean up typing errors. Does anyone know why this happens and what to do about it? Its been happening ever since I had the laptop, and although it has been looked at before this keeps happening still. Thanks for your time |

Do you have trouble with both the right and left keys working?
Can you left click on a folder using just the pad itself by tapping on it? Have you tried using an external USB mouse instead? I have used external mice except sometimes when traveling as I find them more reliable and easier to use. "Katie_4" wrote in message ... Hi Katie,
This does indeed sound like a hardware problem like RCW mentions. However, there are a few things that you can try. You can try attaching an external monitor to see if you have the same symptoms on that. You could also see if downloading and installing the latest graphics driver for your laptop solves your problem (corrupt drivers can manifest their symptoms in a multitude of ways). Please note that you should obtain drivers for hardware devices from the relevant manufacturer and not from Microsoft unless it is a device manufactured by them. As well as the latest graphics driver, you could also try to see if the latest keyboard and mouse drivers help. Also, follow JW's advice and try an alternative mouse. If none of this works, then, depnding upon how long you have had your laptop, you may need to exercise your warranty.
