I have the same problem as Mike, and it is very frustrating. I can't get out
of Safe Mode. I have tried the msconfig route to access the System Configuration screen to check the "Normal Startup" box. But the Boot Options listing still automatically checks the "Safe Boot-minimal" box. If I uncheck the Safe Boot-minimal box, then the Normal Startup box automatically gets unchecked and the "Selective Startup" (Load system services and load startup items) box gets checked. I have tried the system restore approach to bring my system back to a date before this problem started, but that has not solved the problem. I would appreciate any advice you might offer. But I am not very knowledgeable about computers and would probably need a pretty basic walk-through. |

Hi,
Normal startup will only be allowed if all lines are checked on the startup and services tabs. There is nothing wrong with using selective startup, it just prevents unwanted items from loading during a normal boot. Try it, as if it still fails then you have something enabled that needs to be disabled. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Chuckie07" wrote in message ...
