To stop sharing a folder, right-click it Share Stop Sharing Done.

Burr - thanks for the help - but I need more.
After right clickshare - I do not the the option "stop sharing" available to me. The "share" is also grayed out at this point. The file indicates it is being "shared" in the properties window. Perhaps you're trying to 'stop sharing' at the wrong folder level?
