Hi,
Scenario: A nightly robocopy mirror batch file across the internet. The connection/setup has never changed and XP to XP still works today. My new Vista to the XP (across town) is the problem. Situation: I had to purchase Vista x64 and built a brand new machine. Very little software on this new desktop and it is litterally 2 weeks old. I have tried disabling the firewall, McAfee Virusscan, etc. Removed IP6, changed most of my settings back to XP look, feel and still no go. Vista things that work are pretty much everything as long as its to do with the local network. This includes net use, firewalls on, mapping drives, remote desktop, you name it. Outside the network for internet and things do work as well, eg. ports 80, 21, 3389, 25, etc. So far all I know is port 139 is the only does not work and is what I need. As stated before my ole XP desktop is letterally beside my new Vista and continues to work this port 139 if I ask it to, so this shows that the network portion/tracert is there and configuations are working and this has to do with the something inside the new Vista x64. I get the network path not found error 53 or 0x80070035 under the GUI. I changed the "Outbound Rules" for port 139 btu still no go. What can I do? You would not believe what I've tried over a weeks worth of reading, implementing and changing but I have reverted them all back, so each change starts from square one as it is a brand new install. Thanks for your time. |

No event viewer logs. Workstation is running. It certainly looks as though
its trying to work as if I run 2 windows the second window indicates the 67 or 85 error...if I wait long enough though both command windows fails. "Robert L.
