Default Monitor shut down.

Hello, I'll make it short and sweet, my monitor keeps going black all on it's
own. I suspect I may have a worm, Trojan, or spyware, but am unable to
correct the problem, even after repeated system sweeps. Any assistance I can
get with this will be greatly appreciated. Please reply to

Hi BigWiL92,

Does this seem to occur after a regular period of inactivity (typically 15
or 20 minutes) or randomly? If the former, then the following may help you.
To solve your problem, click the start orb and type 'power options' into the
search box. This program should appear in the 'Programs' section of the
results panel. Click on it, and you should be at a screen headed 'Select a
power plan'. The section below this is headed 'Preferred plans', and one of
these should be selected. Under the plan that is selected, click 'Change plan
settings'. This brings up another page headed 'Change settings for the
plan:...'. One of the items on this page is 'Turn off the display:'. Since
your display goes black after a period of time, I assume that this is the
setting here. To change it, simply select the required option fom the drop
down box, in your case I suggest 'Never'. Click 'Save changes' and then close
all open dialogue boxes.
