Vista submits 2 identical jobs to IPP print server with authentication
I've got a Windows 2000 print server that supports both standard print share
and IPP. For IPP, I turned on basic authentication and HTTPS so that users require to login before they can submit print job. The setup works fine for all Windows clients except Vista. I spot that on a print server with authenticated IPP, Vista will submit 2 identical print jobs. At server eventlog, I found that 2 entries of the submitted by Vista. So users will get 2 copies for each submission. The problem does not occur if the IPP print server has turned off authentication. Does anyone here can give me some hints to fix the problem in Vista? Thanks very much in advance. Steve |

Vista submits 2 identical jobs to IPP print server with authentication
Hi there,
Actually I'm having this issue. I've posted the same message on 9/6/2007 in this group but I got no reply. Should I install SP1 RC or wait for SP1 public release? Is there any KB addressing this issue? Rgds Steve "Alan Morris [MSFT]" wrote in message ... Install Vista SP1. The bug got fixed in SP1. There is not a KB on this.
So, as far as I know, you are the only one with this configuration and we fixed the issue. RC1 has the fix inetpp.dll Cool, I like this kind of stuff. -- Alan Morris Windows Printing Team Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base he http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1 This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
