This wouldn't be too surprising if iTunes isn't compatible, even their damn QuickTime control panel turns Aero off because its not compatible. -- Paul Smith, Yeovil, UK. Try to use compatibility mode and if you have UAC enabled, disable it. What
build are you running? i too am having ipod problems. i have a 20gb ipod. my problem tho is i can
install itunes just fine but when i do it blocks my dvd drives from starting. They show up in device manager with a code 10 saying they cant start. Vista recognizes the ipod for what it is but can properly use it. "Tom Ziegmann" wrote: Try to use compatibility mode and if you have UAC enabled, disable it. What build are you running? Somewhat related; I've had issues with iPod Nano not being able to disconnect
in Vista. It says that the device is now safe to disconnect but on the iPod display it is still connected and gives me a warning. I've submitted feedback to MSFT on it but never heard back whether it's being fixed or not. This was on Beta 2. I think this is a security feature from what I can tell and have read around,
it would be nice if there was an option to turn off that security feature for a specific device if the admin password is put in. That way someone couldn't get onto your account or guest account, plug in THEIR IPod and read/write from/to it unless you give them permission. Like firewall rules but for peripherals. I have a Sandisk Cruzer Micro that can't autorun it's LaunchPad suite unfortunately but I can still access everything on it, when it comes to removing the device the light stays on but Vista says its okay to remove it, but it hasn't corrupted yet!
