I've install Vista RC1, and its working great, except for one or two bugs
that stop me using it 'properly'. The main one is that I can't connect to the internet through my wireless network. I have a Netgear WG311v3 PCI card. My network is an Ad-Hoc Wireless network, set up through Windows XP SP2. It uses encryption, which is listed in the network properties as: Ad-Hoc WPA-None (AES) Now, when I try to connect in RC1, it states that my network card doesn't meet the requirements to connect to the network - Even though it works just fine when I boot back into XP. It detects the network as being through an Access Point and using WPA2-PSK. I tried to set it up using the Ad-Hoc Wizard, but it won't let me select WPA. As a last resort, I turned off encryption on the network. Then RC1 will detect the network, however it states that it still has a WEP key. I then tried using WEP Encryption, and it will try to connect, but that says it has an error connecting and can't diagnose the problem. I've read solutions about Windows Update fixing problems like this, but I am unable to get to an internet connection without the wireless connection. I have tried the drivers originally installed by RC1, the drivers on the Netgear CD, and even manually downloaded the latest XP Drivers from the Windows Update site. If anyone could provide me with a solution, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm all ears. |
