Does anyone know how to correctly install the driver from the epson web site
for a 32 bit Windows Vista Home Premium computer built by Hewlett packard model m9150f? -- Best Regards, Butch |

At the risk of sounding sarcastic, the usual way is to follow the
instructions given for the particular printer driver. Usually that involves downloading the file to a suitable directory on your hard drive. Following that, you run the installer. Usually, one would not attach the printer to the computer until directed to do so by the instructions or on-screen prompt. Have you tried that and had a problem? If so, please let us know the printer maker and model, the install method you used and the results. Please include the text of any error messages. Tom MSMVP 1998-2007 "Butch" wrote in message ... Dear Tom,
Thanks for the advice. It was not sarcastic. However, your method was used to no avail. The HP m9150f Windows Vista Home Premium computer was bought 2-2008. My printer was purchased 9-19-2006. It's an Epson Stylus Photo R340. Epson's Tech advice was followed verbatim but the computer still failed to find the drivers &/or recognize the printer. Their recommendation was: "Thank you for contacting the Epson Connection. Please follow the instructions below to remove your printer driver andinstall a downloaded driver. They have been written for Windows VistaDefault view. *Note: If you see a window that says User Account Control at any point, click CONTINUE. PRINTER DRIVER REMOVAL 1) Click Start, and select All Programs.2) Point to EPSON or EPSON Printers, then select EPSON Printer SoftwareUninstall.3) In the next window, select your printer and click OK.4) Follow the on-screen instructions.5) Restart your computer. ***MAKE SURE THE PRINTER IS TURNED OFF AND PLEASE DISCONNECT THE USB CABLEFROM THE BACK OF THE PRINTER*** PRINTER DRIVER DOWNLOAD 1) Go to www.epson.com and select USA or CANADA.2) Click DRIVERS & SUPPORT.3) Under PRINTERS, select INK JET.4) Select your printer from the list.5) Click DRIVERS & DOWNLOADS.6) Click on the Printer Driver for your operating system, then click theDOWNLOAD NOW link that appears.7) Respond to the Download Survey, and click ACCEPT for Epson’s SoftwareLicense Agreement.8) Make a note of the file name and save the downloaded file to DESKTOP inorder to easily retrieve it. PRINTER DRIVER INSTALL 1) Before beginning, make sure the cable for the printer is disconnectedand the printer is turned off.2) Locate and double click on the downloaded driver installation file.3) If you see a Security Warning window, click RUN.4) Click OK at the first WinZip screen.5) Click UNZIP at the second WinZip screen.6) Click OK when WinZip is finished extracting files.7) Click OK on the Printer Utility Setup screen.8) The installer will now copy files to the computer. When this step iscomplete, it will tell you to attach the cable and power on the printer. Please connect the USB cable and turn on the printer.9) The computer will install the new hardware.10) Click OK when the driver installation is complete. Your printer is now ready to use." To add insult to injury, attempts to uninstall or delete or remove the blasted printer won't work. Ergo, it was renamed "Bad Guy" to allow for easy identification. I'll just use it with my XP computer until enough $ is saved to buy a new printer specifically made for Vista. Thanks again! -- Best Regards, Butch "Tom Ferguson" wrote: At the risk of sounding sarcastic, the usual way is to follow the instructions given for the particular printer driver. no brownie points here.
I need epson printer ink personally and can use the link. as well can others. too bad , a real mvp would know how to get the message removed. SPAM messages do not count toward mvp credentials. you have to post something useful and helpful. guess that lets you out. comes from being a fake queeny.
